Mrs Calvert's Weekly Message

Dear Parents,

As we are edging nearer to Christmas here are a few more timely reminders.

Thank you to all the parents who ordered Christmas trees and the merchandise linked to your children's Christmas designs. All these things are ready to be collected from the office. Please wear a mask.

The school takes your safety very seriously, so all the items given out over the next few weeks (including the above), have been assembled/organised with strict Covid friendly techniques e.g. handled with clean hands and face shield, left untouched for many days or only handled by your child. With this in mind we are asking parents to distribute your child's Christmas cards/gifts just outside the school gates because staff would have to handle many different cards.

There is a letter attached from the LEA which echoes these messages.

Some of the items which are coming out next week are -  a book from the Magic Elf, a Christmas Party Bag from the school and various electronic performances.

There is only one area that continues to be a concern and that is the numbers of parents who are continuing to park on the double yellow lines. This behaviour is upsetting quite a lot of parents which I feel is an unnecessary stress in these times. If you are parking illegally, please could you refrain from this because we are a community of mutual respect and Christian values.

This week we are all looking forward to our Christmas Party dinner on Friday 11th December. We do like all children to participate and as such all food has been carefully planned to ensure that dietary needs are catered for as usual If you are concerned just call the school. On this day your child will need to have a Christmas jumper on top of their PE kits. Everyone will be having a photograph of their Christingle (no faces) which will be posted online through All Saints Church Dedworth. The children will be bringing home their Christingle on this day.

Today every child will bring home a yellow duck to say thank you for getting involved with the Children in Need Duck Derby. The overall winners were the Foundation class.

School Direct, the company which supplies our school uniform will be closed from Saturday 19th December and will reopen on Saturday 2nd January 2021 at 9am.

I hope that this helps.
Susan Calvert
